5 LESSONS FROM MARK ZUCKERBERG’S VISIT TO NIGERIA
September 4, 2016
While it is imperative to note that winning the war of terrorism is a target that can never be met most especially in the third world countries. Back home in Nigeria, the story has been the same over the years, even though the no shoer riverine born Nigeria President, told the world that some success are being made in respect of the scourge but we all know that it was just a lip service.
Such war can never be won for the following reasons: 1. these people are ready to lay down their lives to perpetrate their evil deeds, invariably they don’t see death as any threat whatsoever. 2. The Nigeria Military Personnel are doing their best but we all know that the needed modern sophisticated weapons/machines to combat such scourge of war are short in supply and the government was never ready to provide them. 3. The politicization of the crisis also made it a war that can never be won as this was evident by the recent visit of mr President to the two crisis prone states of Borno and Yobe after the progressives had visited the states two weeks earlier. This was the first visit of Mr President since the crisis began.
It is in the light of the above that the writer believes that Dialogue remains the best possible and feasible solution to end this widely spread crisis. However, this dialogue must be accompany with total sincerity and devoid of politics whatsoever on the part of the Government. The best way to get that done is to consult the Northern elders who knows how best to talk to their people in such a way that they won’t say No.
Wow, that was great!
Articulate and engaging.
