1. Why Saro Africa International?
Tip: This is where you have to express your desire for working with the firm. Display your passion for the industry and company; talk about their values and vision, what they do, how they do it etc. This is the opportunity for you to say what you like about the company and how you fit.
2. What do you know about the agricultural industry and the present administration’s policies in Nigeria?
Tip: The recruiters are testing your knowledge about the happenings in the industry. Saro Africa International is in the agriculture industry and requires employees that have an understanding of the industry. An objective analysis of the industry and policies is very important. You would be asked questions
3. Walk me through your undergraduate project in school?
Tip: This question will surely asked especially if you have an agricultural background. This is where you have to concisely but intelligently explain what you did while in school. Take them through the project, its usefulness, processes and how the project might/will benefit Saro Africa. Link the project to the economy. Don’t be too academic with the explanation. Add some economics and statistics. Expect follow-up questions – technical or economic.
4. What motivates you? What are your strengths and weaknesses? Where do you see yourself in five years?
Tip: This is where personal traits are tested. You will asked these questions for the recruiters to gauge what actually pushes you to do things. Your replies should align with the role you are being interviewed for. Tweak them to the company core values and how you have been using them professionally. Expect follow-up questions. An example is: How have you displayed these traits in your professional life?
5. Why should we hire you?
Tip: The opposite of: Why Saro Africa International? Here, you should explain why you should be picked above anyone. This is the time to display all your skills and the stuff you are made of. Summarise all you have done and how they have contributed to your career and professional self. Show the recruiters that you can not only do the work, you can deliver great results; that you’ll really fit in with the team and culture; and that you’d be a better hire than any of the other candidates. See an interview as where war situation where you give in all your weaponry (all you have).
