The Search for Jarushub Nigerian Role Model of the Year

Jarushub is organizing the first edition of the JARUSHUB NIGERIAN ROLE MODEL OF THE YEAR.

Why did we come up with this initiative?

There have been questions in recent time on whether there are actually people young Nigerians can look forward to in Nigeria. With the collapse of executives Nigerians had trusted as personalities worthy of emulation, Nigerians now look at everybody with scepticism. This initiative is to show that there are still Nigerians worthy of celebration, even if they are difficult to come by. It should be put in mind that Jarushub is primarily a career and mentorship platform, with a touch of political economy. So our choice shall be guided by our central theme.

What is the selection procedure?

We shall set up a committee of 10 personalities, most of whom are top contributors to this portal and people of impeccable character, and chaired by Jarus as platform founder. The committee will be saddled with the responsibility of coming up with a shortlist of 5 Nigerians that have done enough to be worthy role model for young Nigerians. The profiles and contributions of the 5 nominated personalities will then be publicly displayed and we will ask readers to vote.

How will the final winner be chosen?

• Popular/open vote – 50%
• Nomination committee vote – 25%
• Jarushub VIP* vote – 25%

The nominee with the highest votes from the scientific methodology  outlined above, will be declared JARUSHUB NIGERIAN ROLE MODEL OF THE YEAR. It will be an annual exercise by God’s grace.

What happens to the winner?  

The winner will be presented with a plaque at the January edition of Jarushub Career Conference.

Timeline:

• 11 – 13 November 2013 – Setting up of Nomination Committee, to be made of top contributors and columnists on Jarushub
• 14 –  21 November 2013 – Nomination committee researches and eliberates on the nominees
• 23 November 2013 – Publishing of the names and profiles of the 5 nominees on Jarushub and on other platforms.
• 23 November – 13 December 2013 – Voting
• 16 December 2013 – Declaration of winner
• 26 January 2013 – Presentation of plaque to the winner at the Jarushub Offline Career Conference, Lekki, Lagos
