Good Day Sir,
I am a recent graduate of Accounting and I recently completed my NYSC programme, I actually need some clarifications on Finanacial Riask Management (FRM) from your egg-heads.
I want to go for it instead of the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA ) program basically because of cash (not much savings from NYSC allowances), but the first question is this, can a graduate of accounting cope with the top risk management exam? I plan to study for the exams on my own.
Also, do you think this program is cool for a freshie that wants to go into risk management?
Thanks and I really commend you guys for the great work.
NB: I passed the final stage of ICAN recently and hope to write CFA in the future
Dear Sola,

Of course you can pass any exams with proper and adequate preparation. However, Financial Risk Management is an advanced exam in Risk Management which I think you may not really appreciate at your level especially when you have not worked in that area previously. However, if you must write the exams, you need to have a plan of being trained in risk management be it in a bank or any other outfit so as to enjoy the value added.
CFA is a fantastic idea but get you priority straight.
THE JARUS VERDICT
Najeem has said it all. FRM has more benefits and is better appreciated if your job requires financial risk analysis. If you have any plans of going into that, then you can try your hands on the exams. If you are still unsure, I wont advise you go into it. It’s about knowing what you want and going for it, not just writing exams because you know you can pass.
All the best.
Jarus
