RELEVANT CERTIFICATIONS FOR A MECHANICAL ENGINEERING GRADUATE
Good day JarusHub, I am a graduate of mechanical engineering,. I am through with service (NYSC) and currently searching for a job. But from now till the job comes, I want to get some certifications that are relevant to my course of study. Any help?
Seun,
I passed this to a Mechanical Engineer part of JarusHub Analysts Team
Wasiu holds a first degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and Msc in Sub Sea Engineering from University of Aberdeen, Scotland, where he finished with Distinction. He has worked in oil and gas engineering services industry in Nigeria and abroad for more than 6 years.
Hi,
Congratulations on your graduation and completion of your NYSC, and welcome to the labour market.
As a fresh graduate of mechanical engineering, relevant certifications you can do now are quite limited. From my experience what you need most (within our Nigerian context) to place you a notch or so above your peers and improve your chances of getting a relevant engineering job is hands-on training in some engineering design and analysis tools/softwares, for example, AutoCAD, PDMS, PDS,
Microstation, CaesarII, AutoPipe, PVElite, and so on. You can also start learning the basics of FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
The good thing about learning and developing your capabilities with these tools is that you can decide to be on your own, do small design and analysis jobs, train others while you wait for your dream job interview.
To stand out to potential employers and prepare you for engineering management you can also do the first (basic) level of the project management certification, for example the CAPM, it is sufficient for
you at this stage, higher levels should come with years of work experience.
I wish you the best in your quest.

I am about graduating with an Electrical / Electronics Engineering degree (majoring in electronics and hopefully a first class degree) from one of nigeria’s best universities. What certifications can be acquired in order to be ahead of my peers in instrumentation and control engineering.
I passed 300-135 from myexamcollection.com is the best site preparation for Study Material.
