Entry Level
5 O’level credits (including English & Maths) at a sitting
Minimum of second class upper in first degree
Usually not above 26 years
Pass the company test
Pass a multiple-stage interview
Experienced
Like other professional services firms, quality of experience plays a significant role. Experience in another Big 4 firm or top consulting firm, excellent communication skills, etc may be helpful in securing experienced level job with KPMG.
REMUNERATION
Average.
JOB SECURITY
High, subject to great performance. Company not known for indiscriminate laying off. Just perform and never compromise your integrity amongst other values they covet. Tight recruitment process reduces the chance of bad eggs getting job there in the first place.
JOB TEST
It is a computer-based test. We spoke with a couple of people who have written their test. Almost equally distributed between those who flunked it and those who made it. But their test is not the most common hurdle. Interview is the greater hurdle for most people we know.
And you’re allowed to write their test only once.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
KPMG conducts a decently rigorous interview process.
Interview is usually in 3-4 stages, held at few days or weeks intervals. You get to talk with different levels of officers in the system. If you scale the stages, you get the job.
HOW TO APPLY
They usually have yearly or biennial graduate recruitment exercises which are well publicized. One is currently ongoing, click to here apply.
Apart from regular advertised GT programmes, they also accept CV on ongoing basis, especially if submitted by trusted insiders. Such unsolicited CVs are usually kept in database in case relevant openings come up.
ASSESS YOUR CHANCE (ENTRY LEVEL)
FIRST CONDITION | YES for the 3? | NO for any?
1, I made Minimum of 5 credits in o’level with English & Math @ one sitting
2, I made first class or second class honour from the university
3, I am below 26 years Go to second condition Try other reputable companies that don’t have such rules.
If your your issue is:
1, Didn’t make 5 credits on one sitting: try a reputable bank or law firm where this is relaxed
2, Attended Polytechnic: Try PwC. PwC takes HND
3, Above 26 years: Try a reputable company where this is not applicable. Tough, we must confess.
Experience elsewhere, especially in a top organization or fellow Big 4, and maybe a good second degree abroad, may just remedy the situation when you apply after 4-6 years as experienced hire. But again, the “roadblock” at that point is still tight, but assailable. SECOND CONDITION Honestly score yourself or have a friend score you Excellent (5)Average (3)Below Average (1)Verbal reasoning test skills Quantitative reasoning test skills I speak good English with clear diction I’m familiar with workings of business I have professional qualifications (ICAN or ACCA) I dress well and look or can look good I am confident I can discuss issues ex tempore TOTAL Score (over 40) 32-40Bright chance 25-31Decent chance Below 25 Tight, but not impossible
Editor’s Note: This is designed by us for anyone desirous of working in KPMG to assess his chance and is purely our informed thought. This is not the official assessment template of KPMG and it is solely our initiative to assist students and job seekers in self-assessment, as is done in other parts of the world.

Nice one, i must confess. Can you kindly post same for PwC. Would really appreciate.
It’s on our radar. Hopefully before the end of the year. We do one company per month.
Good analysis.
Please I passed PI but I have about 4 Ds and one E on my transcript. I have done excellently well in my interviews so far. Please can I be dropped now? I passed my Audit by the way
I don’t think your transcripts matter. They all feed into the grade you graduated with.
