DAILY CAREER TIP: 04/09/2013
One principle to having a successful career is showing respect to everyone – both the highly placed and the lowly. In any case, you must respect, at least overtly, your superior. But when you respect even the junior ones, it is a plus to you. Be friendly to all. When everyone talks about you in positive light in the organization, that is a good sign. Never look down upon even the tea boys, security guards, receptionists, cleaners, gardeners, etc. Responding cheerfully to their greetings or even being the first to say hi, and joking with them, will not take anything away from you. You never know where any of them is going to be useful to your career.
