REVIEWING A 2.2 GRADUATE’S CAREER PLAN
June 9, 2015
Lemme mention the two things I think he failed to include under the work experience;
1) I think NYSC should be under work experience
2) He didnt enumerates his responsibilities/roles for each posts.
Aside what sidiq said, i think the resume was not properly arranged and why was some headings highlighted and those in the same categories were not….example marital status, nationality ,research work and some of the work experiences
Forget about the highlighting, it was in the process of posting here.
My review:
1, Personally, I see objective as banal, and I don’t use it in my CV. But if you must use it, then the minimum is to carve it in correct English. In the above CV, ‘objectives’ in ‘…organizational goals and Objectives’ should start with lower case ‘o’. Also, ‘administrative skills’, not ‘administration skills’
2, KwaraState, LagosState – why are they joined? Kwara state, Lagos state pls. They are not one word.
3, St. James, not ST. James
4, Primary school ‘leaving’……not primary school ‘living’
5, Working experience – what is National Identity Card? That’s vague. Obviously, you were referring to being part of the adhoc officers used during National Identitification project, but you presumed the reader of your CV knows that. A better thing to do is to put the name of the body: National Identity Management Commission, and in parenthesis, put your role i.e what you did
6, Adhoc, not Adhorc
7, In any case, I’m not so sure being part of the hundreds of thousands of adhoc officers recruited to carry out the ID card exercise adds any value to you or your CV. So I will recommend you delete it. It’s not a specialized skill, every Tom and Harry did that. Moreso that you have a better thing in working as a tax consultant at Adekanola.
8, Not sure of your intention in that line, but if you are thinking of what I thought, I guess it should be ‘Research Undertaken’ (i.e research you have done), not ‘Research Undertaking’
9, ST. James Primary School Offa, – there should be comma after school: St. James Primary School, Offa, Kwara state. Ditto for the computer school, comma before Jibowu
10, Government Day Secondary School. Owode-Ofaro – full stop, not comma after school: Government Day Secondary School, Owode-Ofaro
I do not take proper cognisance of those points but urs truly those point re actually very essential as in they re just the virus that corrupt that c.v….may be i should post mine too you may be able to spot one or two errors which might be hindering my not having a new job since….lolsss
This entry level applicant didn’t put full home address, competence and skills are very important too.
