CHEMICAL ENGINEERING OR CIVIL ENGINEERING?

Please does chemical engineering give better job prospects than Civil Engineering? I apply for Chemical and Civil at two different universities and glory be to God, they both gave me admission to study what I applied for. I am in love with both, but I don‘t know which one to go for. Please help me compare the two based on:

  • Job opportunity after graduation
  • Incomeprospect
  • The more recognized, broader and diversified one in terms of profession and job intakes.

Dear Vil,
There is no course that does not have prospects. But I tend to have more liking for Chemical Engineering because few schools do it (which means lower competition). A good number of my friends that studied Chemical Engineering, including Dr. Femi Taiwo, Tope Ajetunmobi and Xfire, are doing very fine.  While acknowledging that it is you – rather than  your course of study –  that determines what you become, I’m more inclined to advising you should go for Chemical Engineering as a surer route to achieving the goals you listed up there.
