Dear sir,
I must say a very big thank you for all your good works. I just finished reading your book and it opened my eyes about some things.
Firstly, I am a corp member serving in Lagos state, I studied geology and mineral science from University of Ilorin and came out with 2:1. My place of primary assignment granted some space which I intend using on improving myself.
I’ve plans of doing masters later on but doesn’t know what the future holds after NYSC. I’ve heard of some certification programmes like HSE and NEBOSH. Please sir, I want some guidelines concerning it.
And will love if you could be my mentor.

Dear Kamal
Thanks for the kind words on my book.
HSE, NEBOSH etc are good certificates which I will encourage you to do if you have the money, but the most critical thing to do now is to improve your job test taking and interviewing skills. Your 2:1 will get you shortlisted for the test of many companies. It will now be left for you to be able to ace them. So I will advise you should use your service year to improve your test taking and interviewing skills such that when you finish your service and start to apply for jobs, you are prepared. This is the bane of may people I met recently – inability to pass job tests and interviews after their 2:1 got them job test invites.
In addition to the tips you already read in the book, you can also keep reading this website as it contains a lot of helpful information on these skills and general eye openers on job hunting and career.
It is also important that you subscribe to hotnigerianjobs.com and other top job websites like HotProForum to see latest job adverts especially towards the end of your service year.
As for mentoring, I have almost 100 people under my mentoring already and it’s usually tight giving people attention but I try to reply Whatsapp messages – even if delayed. I have sent my number to you, please introduce yourself.
All the best
