ACHIEVING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE – BLUEPRINT FOR A FRESH UNDERGRADUATE
Good morning Mr Jarus. You have been doing an immense job and I hope that many youths like me are getting inspired daily. I am Ayodeji by name, a follower here and on Nairaland. I feel the need to come out bare and seek for help and advice, which I know you are capable of providing for me.
I am 21 years old, and will be resuming at University of Ilorin by September to start studying Civil engineering. I have determined in my heart (and so help me God) that I will be graduating with a first class honors in this course, no matter the challenges I face. Please Mr Jarus, I need a plan on how I can achieve this. (I have one already, but I believe that two heads are better than one). I won’t mind you personally referring me to anyone in the civil engineering path too.
I also need to know what steps to take after completing my BSc, the various employment opportunities for civil engineers etc.
I know you can help me achieve my dream, sir. Thank you sir.
Ayodeji

As for employment opportunities for Civil Engineers, just take care of your studies first, and worry less about that for now. Good grade is a huge advantage in the Labour Market irrespective of the course you studied.
All the best.
