I am a regular reader of your blog and I pray to Allah to grant you knowledge and good health to continue ur good works.
I am a 19 year old student of a federal polytechnic in Nigeria in Accountancy department and currently on upper credit. Due to frequent strikes by ASUP, and someone who have always wanted to be a Chartered off score.
After assessing my ability, I discovered that it will be a herculean task for
me to graduate with a 2.1 in economics being an average student in Mathematics. I have decided to take a change of course form but I don’t know what course to change to between Accountancy and Finance. Kindly advise: What are the chances of getting a job with Accounting+ICAN or Finance+ICAN?

Dear Ola,
Since you don’t think you can cope with Economics, I will advise you for Accounting.
One, you studied accounting in the polytechnic, which will make it easy for you to settle easily.
Two, you wanted to write ICAN, it will make your professional exams complement your school work if you decide to write the exam while still in school, or get you more exemptions that Finance if you decide to wait till you graduate.
Three, most of the jobs that take Finance+ICAN also take Accounting+Finance.
You stand a good chance of getting a decent job with ICAN certificate, irrespective of the course you studied, provided you’re able to pass job tests.
I wish you all the best.
